Pastor Problem

Here is what was euphamistically referred to on CNN yesterday as Barak Obama's "pastor problem".

In full flow is Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Strangely only since these videos made it to mass circulation has Mr. O decided to officially drop Mr. W as his official "spiritual adviser".

Obama is set to deliver a 'major speech' later this morning (Tuesday) to address this 'campaign problem'.

I suspect he will focus on all of the 'good' that Pastor Wright has done during his twenty-year tenure as pastor of Unity Church. He has indeed done much work that benefitted the community, but it has been almost exclusively aimed at helping blacks.

That would certainly be palatable, if it weren't for the fact that he exhibits a disdain, if not an outright hatred, of white people.

Obama has claimed that he was not present at any of the virulent, black-centric, anti-American hate sermons that this 'man of the cloth' has delivered over the years.

It seems to me that, even if that were the case, he would certainly be aware of his minister's anti-American, anti-white, pro-Muslim leanings. And, since he has been a member of Wright's church for twenty years, and since Wright married the Obamas and baptized their children, if Obama is not aware of his pastor's deep-seated, extremely vocal political leanings, then Obama is certainly very naive and unobservant -- not particularly desirable qualities in someone running for the position of leader of the free world.

Obama is disingenuous, at best -- and a man with a frightening hidden agenda, at worst.

Thanks for posting this, Luis. I'm glad to see that you are following what passes for 'the election process' over here.

Thank you Joanie.

I agree that it seems unlikely that the Pastor's views should be a "surprise" to a long time member of the congregation.

Perhaps, to borrow a phrase, some chickens could be coming home to roost for Mr. Obama ?
